Caring for your Harmony Tibetan Carpet:

As with all fine carpets, keep out of direct sunlight. Do not use any chemical rug cleaners on your carpet. Using plain or sparkling water and dabbing with a clean cloth will take care of most spills. Use a rug pad of good quality. Felt padding is best, or good quality synthetic rubber will do.

Avoid placing heavy, metal or sharp wood furniture on your carpet. Turn your carpet twice a year to minimize indentations.

It is fine to vacuum your carpet. Be sure to go with the pile and avoid vacuuming the fringe. To maintain your carpet you should have it professionally cleaned once every 2-3 years or so.  Use only reputable dealers and instruct them not to use chemicals.

For Spills:

If spills occur on your carpet such as food, wine, coffee, tea, etc. it should be cleaned immediately. Blot the mess, apply cold water to dilute the stain and blot gently (do not rub). Keep blotting until the stain comes up, once stain is lifted, blot gently with a clean cloth, turning it so that you use a dry area each time.  Keep blotting until area is dry to the touch. Hang carpet to dry and be sure that backing is also dry before laying rug down again.

If ever you are not sure what to do or you cannot treat the stain, it is best to contact a reputable, professional cleaner for advice.
